New Community Heritage Climate Action Plan brochure launched

We’re inviting community groups with an interest in exploring, recording and protecting their heritage to work with us to create a Community Heritage Climate Action Plan for their local area.  

The Our Heritage, Our Future team have created a new brochure for interested community groups to learn more about the support we can offer. Through a range of workshops and activities, our team can help your group identify local heritage, learn about climate change, engage the community and identify short, medium and long-term actions. 

Furthermore, our support is completely free, made possible by Historic Environment Scotland and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to The National Lottery players. 

When your plan is complete, our team will be on hand to provide further training and resources to support your group to implement the actions identified in your plan.

We’re looking to work with groups over the coming winter months – interested community groups should contact us as soon as possible. Send a paragraph detailing the need for a Community Heritage Climate Action Plan in your area to communities@keepscotlandbeautiful.org 

Please include the following: 

• Organisation / group name 

• Operating postcode 

• Tell us about your group’s set-up and core aims 

• Tell us about your community e.g. urban/coastal/rural, specific barriers faced 

• Is there some specific heritage that your community is keen to preserve e.g. buildings at risk/green spaces/culture and traditions
