Combatting climate change

The issue:
There is a climate emergency

Our ambition:
Scotland is a Net Zero nation

Opportunity:
Help us create a Climate Literate Scotland

Supporting Scotland’s Net Zero ambition

The world is facing a climate emergency. It is imperative that Scotland achieves its Net Zero ambition. For more than a decade we have been influential in shaping policy, inspiring community based action and supporting the education sector and our young people to combat climate change.

We support the Scottish Government’s ambition to become a Net Zero Nation.

Our combined impact

For almost 20 years we have supported you to understand and combat climate change.

  • 5,000 people supported to become Carbon Literate, accredited through our partnership with Carbon Literacy Project.
  • 9 sector-based Climate Emergency Training courses developed.
  • Reached more than 15,000 pupils through our Schools Climate Action Week

Our work with you to combat climate change

We work to support Scotland’s 2045 Net Zero target through our awards, education and community engagement work, with the ambition for Scotland to become a Climate Literate nation.

We are a Platinum Carbon Literate Organisation and the official partner in Scotland for the award-winning Carbon Literacy Project and have been delivering Climate Emergency Training together since 2016. We offer a wide range of bespoke sector-based training, including for the sport, construction, tourism and housing sectors.

Climate Action Schools is our framework of education initiatives to support Scotland’s educators, young people and children to progress Learning for Sustainability and climate change education. The Framework focuses on five main outcomes: Learning for Sustainability; Climate Emergency; Biodiversity; Litter and Pollution; and amplifying Pupil Voice.

Our Community Climate Action Plan programme was launched in 2021 with support from the Scottish Government and we are now expanding this to develop Community Heritage and Climate Action Plans as part of our new Our Heritage Our Future programme.

But we know we can’t make a difference on our own, so do get in touch if you want to find out more about how we can work with you to combat climate change and enable positive change.
