Carluke Development Trust

Set up in 1999 by the local community, Carluke Development Trust is a non-profit charitable organisation carrying out projects to develop the community, space and environment of the Parish of Carluke. They work with communities to grow a sustainable and thriving economy, with budding environments and open community spaces.

Our Heritage, Our Future worked with Carluke Development Trust to engage the local community with their heritage through engagement events and Cultural Heritage Skills Training. Participants joined a workshop on the impact of climate change on heritage, and several participants went on to receive training in Creating Guided Tours.

Since working with Carluke Development Trust, we have built connections and delivered training to participants in other programmes across South Lanarkshire including East Kilbride and Strathaven.
