St. Fillans Community Trust
The St. Fillans Community Trust focuses on improving the quality of life for people that live in the village and the local built and natural environment. The Trust is run by local volunteers who work closely with the community council, local businesses, and other community groups in the village.
In 2024, we started working with St. Fillans Community Trust to complete and implement a Community Heritage Climate Action Plan. The group prioritised care of their existing archive, which was being held in an annex of the church and starting to be damaged by environmental conditions.
The group have successfully secured funding from the local wind farm fund to build a brand-new facility to house their archive and to purchase archival grade storage to protect their archive materials – all actions which were identified through engaging in the action plan process. Construction of the archive facility is complete as of 2026 and work continues to catalogue and relocate the archive.
We have continued to support St. Fillans Community Development Trust with Cultural Heritage Skills Training. Several members of the community have now achieved a qualification in Creating Guided Tours facilitated by the Our Heritage, Our Future team.
Group members have benefitted from the expertise of the Our Heritage, Our Future staff in many ways. Guidance on accessing funding, researching our areas of interest and archiving existing archives has been invaluable.
