Litter picked for Big Forth Clean Up

Earlier today our Campaigns team took part in litter picks as part of the Big Forth Clean Up.

As well as completing six Upstream Battle® surveys, the team managed to collect four bags of litter as well as a pram along the riverbank in the Raploch, preventing it all from ending up in the river.

We then headed through to Grangemouth to support the Grangemouth Glitter Team with a pick along the grange burn, removing 20 bags of litter alongside three trolleys and lots of scooters.

Rachael Pirie, our Campaigns Officer, said: "It was great to have the full team out for a litter pick by the water near our office before joining up with the fantastic Grangemouth Glitter Team.

"Both litter picks were part of the Big Forth Clean Up event which removed litter from all along the Firth of Forth coastline. 

"All this hard work is crucial to stop litter's journey from source to sea and we were delighted to support this brilliant initiative organised by Balanced Horizon."
