Local Action
Local Action@headTag>
Throughout Scotland, there are many active groups supporting and leading their communities with litter picks and collecting citizen science data. Many groups have adopted a local patch and will litter pick and monitor a stretch of their local river or burn using our citizen science toolkit.
Citizen science data that is collected and submitted through the Keep Scotland Beautiful's online portal adds to our national litter database and will provide insight into the types of litter that has the potential to travel the source to sea pathway to the marine environment.
Read through the case studies below from amazing local groups and individuals to be inspired and find out more about the local action taking place to tackle marine litter. You can find more guest blogs from local litter pickers here and you can search for case studies on the Resources page of the Community Litter Hub.

Many of these groups, and a range of others are now part of Keep Scotland Beautiful's Community Clean Up Network. You can find out what groups and events are near you on our Clean Up Hub Map.
