Recording the heritage environment

This unit covers the researching and recording of heritage. This may include natural, built, and cultural heritage. Learners may use a range of techniques such as measuring, photographing, cataloguing, and mapping. They will gain an understanding of the importance of record keeping and archiving.

Recording the heritage environment is one of the units candidates can complete to achieve a new Certificate in Cultural Heritage, credit rated by Qualifications Scotland, as part of the Our Heritage, Our Future programme.  The aim of the qualification is to support people to understand the importance of our built, natural and cultural heritage in Scotland, develop specific heritage-related skills and celebrate success of all candidates.
