St. Fillans Community Trust
The St. Fillans Community Trust is a charity, established in November 2007, which is run by volunteers from the village. The purpose of the Trust is to manage community land and associated assets for the benefit of the Community. The Trust has a wide-ranging remit and has concentrated particularly on improving the quality of life for people that live in the village and the local built and natural environment.
The trust works closely with the community council and other groups in the village to ensure that projects can be delivered successfully, working with village funds and external funders.
Since 2024, we have been working with St. Fillans Community Trust to complete and implement a Community Heritage and Climate Action Plan. The group have prioritised care of their existing archive, which is currently being held in an annex of the church and is starting to be damaged by environmental conditions. Work has started to catalogue the archive, and the group are in the process of looking for funding to purchase archive-grade storage materials.
We are continuing to support St. Fillans Community Development Trust with skills training to implement the actions identified in the plan. Several members of the community have now achieved a qualification in Providing Guided Tours facilitated by the Our Heritage, Our Future team.
