Community Litter Workshops
Community Litter Workshops
To support the National Litter and Flytipping Strategy, Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) is delivering a community-focused litter education programme based around 90-minute online and in-person workshops.
The workshops aim to provide participants with information and access to resources to help tackle litter and littering behaviour.
The 90 minute workshops are being delivered by KSB, as part of our actions for the National Litter and Flytipping Strategy's Year 2 Actions, which are being implemented in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland and SEPA.
The workshops are funded by the Scottish Government.

Who are these workshops for? @headTag>
The workshops are for adult (18+) individuals and/or representatives of groups or businesses who are beginning their journey to tackle litter and littering behaviour in their community.
There are workshops for people living in four specific local authority areas, plus a Scotland-wide workshop.
The workshops will take place from November 2024 for people living in:
- Aberdeenshire
- Argyll and Bute
- Falkirk
- Scottish Borders
- Scotland (online)
Why should I register to attend a workshop?
At the workshops, participants will develop an understanding of:
- why litter is a problem;
- the wider impacts of poor environmental quality; and
- the basics of behaviour change theory.
Participants will also build knowledge to:
- develop an effective plan to tackle litter in the local area;
- monitor and report on the litter problem in the local area; and
- identify further information and support to tackle the litter emergency.
How will the workshops take place?
The workshops will be delivered by our experienced facilitator/s, who will use supporting information from a series of specially developed slides.
Workshops are 90 minutes in length and will encourage peer-to-peer interaction and learning and will allow time for a Q&A at the end.
The workshops will either be held online using Zoom or in person at various venues. To participate in the online workshops, you will need access to a laptop, computer, tablet or smartphone and access to the internet.
After signing up on Eventbrite, participants will receive a link to online workshops by email closer to the date.
When will the workshops take place?
The details of all available workshops can be found via the Eventbrite Collection.
