Silver environmental accolade for Arran Sense of Scotland

14 May 2026

Arran Sense of Scotland has scooped a silver level National Award for Environmental Excellence®.

The accolade – which enables organisations to benchmark their environmental achievements and improvements - recognises the steps which Arran Sense of Scotland has put in place to minimise its impact on the environment.

Arran Sense of Scotland has been inspired by the beautiful landscapes of the Isle of Arran for over 35 years. The assessors were impressed with the organisations commitment to protecting our natural environment, work to actively reduce plastic consumption, use of locally derived natural ingredients as well as responsible waste management practices and renewable energy usage across its manufacturing centres.

As a supplier to a number of 4*and 5* hospitality businesses' across the UK who are pursuing International Green Key accreditation this National Award for Environmental Excellence® recognises Arran Sense of Scotland’s commitment to support its partners in pursuit of their own sustainability strategies.

Brian Rae, our Operations Manager said: “It is wonderful to celebrate the achievements of Arran Sense of Scotland. Their efforts to build on environmental and sustainable practices at Dundonald and Home Farm deserve to be recognised with this Silver accreditation and we look forward to continuing our support of their long-term efforts.

“The care and professionalism displayed by employees illustrated just how embedded the good practices were across the organisation and how keen they were to further improve the organisation’s performance in the future.

“We’ve been working closely with businesses and organisations across Scotland, helping them to take direct action to improve their local environment. National Award for Environmental Excellence® provides an exciting opportunity to assess and recognise their efforts and support those who are making meaningful environmental commitments.”

Our auditors noted the excellent processes in place to manage resources, the commitment to circular economy ambitions and the way leadership sought ways to innovate and improve the working environment for all employees.   The strength of links with the local community, particularly the Arran Trust, demonstrated the deeply embedded ties with local charities, community projects and essential services to support young people to engage with nature.

Kevin Meechan, CEO of Arran Sense of Scotland said, “Achieving Silver is an important milestone in our brands ESG journey, and a testament to the hard work across the ARRAN Sense of Scotland team over the last number of years. We remain committed to a clear, measurable ESG roadmap that will drive meaningful progress across our operations, supply chain, and customer experience. For our local consumers and partners, this continues to reflect our ambition to lead responsibly and build a more sustainable future for our industry in Scotland & beyond.”
