Our new ambassador

16 September 2024

Our charity is lucky to have many dedicated people across Scotland all helping to raise the profile of the positive action that can be taken to address the environmental challenges we face.  We work with people across a large variety of sectors across Scotland as we aim to inspire action to combat climate change, tackle litter and waste, restore nature and biodiversity and improve places. We also work with a small, influential and mighty number of charity Ambassadors.

We are delighted to welcome Stephen Jardine, one of Scotland’s best-known journalists and broadcasters, to #TeamKSB as an ambassador of our charity.

Stephen started his career in radio before joining STV as a trainee reporter, he now works for the BBC presenting a morning radio show on BBC Radio Scotland and the TV political discussion programme 'Debate Night' on BBC Scotland.  He also writes for The Scotsman and The Times and hosts a range of conferences and high-profile events.

On welcoming Stephen to his role, Barry Fisher our CEO said, “I am so pleased that Stephen has kindly agreed to become one of Keep Scotland Beautiful’s first Ambassadors - lending us his passion and commitment.  We work hard to encourage, support and celebrate the positive action being taken across Scotland to make our country clean, green and sustainable and are lucky to have many dedicated people across Scotland raising the profile of the environmental challenges we face, and the positive action that can be taken.  However, we know that we need to do more. We look forward to working with Stephen to help us amplify our calls to keep Scotland beautiful, and are extremely grateful for his support.”

Stephen added, “I am delighted to become one of Keep Scotland Beautiful’s first ambassadors.   You may know me from the phone in on BBC Radio Scotland, where I hear day-in and day-out from people across Scotland about how important it is to them to see their communities thriving and blossoming. I really look forward to working with you all in the months, and years ahead, to achieve what we all want to see, and what we all want for our country – to keep Scotland beautiful.”

You can find out more about Our ambassadors on our website, and we look forward to welcoming more in due course.
