Highland Community Waste Partnership Legacy
Legacy webinars
With the Highland Community Waste Partnership finishing up on 31 March 2025, we've been keen to ensure that the legacy of the project lives on and that all the learning generated over the past three years is shared as widely as possible, so that others can build on it.
Over the coming months, leading up to Summer 2025, we'll be building a legacy website that will aim to showcase our work, share learning and signpost to resources and ongoing projects to get involved with.
In the meantime, we are making the recordings available from our series of Legacy webinars, that we delivered in the week of 17 March 2025.
In these roughly 1hr sessions, you can hear directly from those involved in the Highland Community Waste Partnership on the following topics:
Hear from Partnership Coordinator Georgina Massouraki, who speaks about setting up and delivering the HCWP, from key elements like governance, collaboration, communications and project management, as well as an overview of the work delivered.
Hear directly from partners about their work to prevent food waste and promote composting, from delivering workshops and resources for households and businesses, to setting up local projects including a range of community/larger-scale composting projects.
Hear directly from partners about their work to promote sharing and repairing as an alternative to buying things new and/or throwing them away. From sharing, repairing and upcycling events and workshops, to creating new sharing and repairing services in their communities, including sharing libraries, repair cafes and a repair directory and network.
Hear directly from partners about their work to address single-use and packaging waste, from local recycling solutions for cardboard and glass; local trials of reusable alternatives to single-use items; as well as more regional work to pilot cup recycling and returnable packaging and promote reuse and refill.
