Mounthooly Food Forest

Aberdeen City

2025 Certificates
Level 3 - Advancing

Their vision is to create a food forest on Mounthooly Roundabout, which is the largest greenspace in the recently-designated Priority Neighbourhood of George St. They’ve started by planting fruit trees and fruit bushes. Their aim is to create a greenspace that produces food for the local community as well as being beneficial for physical & mental health & wellbeing and also biodiversity. Their strategy prioritizes partnership working with the local college NESCOL, Aberdeen City Council and local community groups and organisations. They’re taking inspiration from the published work of local resident Alan Carter "A Food Forest in Your Garden".
