Belville Community Garden

Belville Community Garden Trust (BCGT) is a community-led charity based in one of the most deprived areas of Inverclyde (SIMD1). Established by local residents, they promote community development through horticulture, sustainable food systems, environmental education, and climate action. They manage a large outdoor site including community and biodiversity gardens, allotments, and a children’s garden, alongside indoor activity space and a community kitchen. Their weekly programmes offer volunteering, employability support, food growing, cooking skills, and emergency food provision. Recognised as a local anchor organisation, BCGT strengthens wellbeing, tackles food poverty, and builds community resilience through partnership working and participant-led engagement.
