The volunteer gardeners at NMMS, with participants aged 18 to 90, have transformed the grounds through sustainable and creative work. They’ve rejuvenated the original Beechgrove Garden, using upcycled materials from the Pit and plants sourced through donation or propagation. Their recent focus on biodiversity includes building a dead hedge, birch fencing, and creating habitats for insects. They're supporting a local Eco School, including planting potatoes and beans with them, and are hard at work supporting local biodiversity and ecology, upcycling materials, and developing a new sensory garden to support people with mental health issues.
