Friends of Jock's Burn Community Orchard

A small community group of volunteers working to restore a neglected orchard and wildflower meadow at Jock’s Burn near the centre of Carluke. They meet on Monday afternoons from 1.30pm till 3pm. Weekly work includes: planting, weeding, landscaping, drainage, composting, watering plants, fruit harvesting, tree care and recording wildlife and wild flowers. They have links with a local school, neighbouring residents, the countryside ranger, the unpaid work team, their local authority and other local organisations. They aim to create an appealing green space for local use and a haven for wildlife.
