Growing Together - Enable Fortune Works

A social enterprise supporting people with learning disabilities to take an active role in their community to break down barriers of exclusion. They have a garden centre open to the public where their service users learn gardening skills. They also have a community allotment plot, where they grow vegetables for the diner. As part of the IYN Initiative, they: complete community litter picks; maintain and plant in areas of the local park in conjunction with Drumchapel Community Council; remove invasive species; host learning sessions for nurseries and primary schools in their garden centre; and nurture a biodiversity area.

In 2023, Growing Together were 2nd place in the NatureScot It's Your Neighbourhood Pollinator Friendly Award, and received Certificates of Recognition in the Keep Scotland Beautiful Involving Children and Young People Award and the Parks & Green Spaces Award.
