Friends of Orchard Park

Friends of Orchard Park blossomed as the pandemic arrived. Five years later, the community enjoys the group’s positive impact on biodiversity and use of the park. They've added over thirty fruit trees to the exisiting orchard, plus fruit canes and bushes, wildflower beds, woodland habitat and a pocket forest. They've fostered a small group of regular local volunteers, receive help from The Conservation Volunteers with challenging tasks, host corporate volunteers, work with local park rangers and recently hosted a Wassailing community sing. As the variety of plants and animals in Orchard Park is growing, so too is the group’s confidence.
