Friends of Jock's Burn Community Orchard

As volunteers, the group’s vision is to develop Jock’s Burn Community Orchard into a welcoming space for the local community, engaging with households, schools, nurseries and the public through leafleting, social media and events. They embrace sustainability by planning a green composting system, recycling waste and encouraging wildlife. They hope to turn this sunny site into an area where plants and trees will thrive, through planning, planting new varieties, and on-going maintenance. With their enthusiasm, gardening expertise and knowledge of the local conditions, they hope to make the orchard an amenity to be enjoyed and cherished.
