Dumfries Adoptive Railway Gardeners (DARG)

The group design and maintain the Dumfries Railway Station Gardens. There are formal, town park style gardens along each of two platforms, a woodland garden on a hillside and they are currently reclaiming a new area that has been derelict for some years. There are over 40 planters distributed around the station. The formal gardens have lawns, beds and borders with areas for specific plantings e.g. gravel garden, rose garden. Over the past 3 years they have moved away from the extensive twice yearly planting of annuals to the use of perennials.
