Danderhall & District Guerrilla Gardeners

Other than maintaining 7 Community gardens/green spaces by legal contract with the local Council, the group works with the Primary School. For a 4-week session, they take groups of 6/8 Primary 5 children out of school to weed, plant, litter-pick and have a crafting week where they might make bird/other feeders to take home, hang on trees in gardens, or within the school grounds. The kids wear hi-vis vests, have gardening gloves, and all equipment they may need for any task. At the end of their 4-week session, the kids are all awarded a certificate. Collection cans in the local shops fund these groups.
