Castlemilk Park Project - Castlemilk Stables Community Garden

The park’s mission statement is that “Castlemilk Park becomes a local resource that brings significant environmental, community and economic benefits to Castlemilk”. This project helps deliver towards our health, employability, community engagement and early intervention targets. In May 2011, Cassiltoun employed a Community Woodland Officer, who has co-ordinated and enabled the delivery of over 900 free events, activities, and outdoor education in and around the woods of Castlemilk Park.

With a team of volunteers, the group run woodland maintenance activities in Castlemilk Park. This includes maintaining and planting vegetation, litter picks and building and maintaining paths. They also have a community garden at Castlemilk Stables which is maintained by volunteers.
