Friends of Morningside Cemetery

Building on their achievement of 'Outstanding' for the past two years, the group look forward to new initiatives in 2026. Construction of a 'dead hedge' is in planning, with the help of the Bereavement Services of Edinburgh City Council which will support wildlife and make use of dead and fallen branches. New benches have been ordered to pinpoint the Victorian landscape of the Cemetery. The Friends continue their links with Morningside Primary School and Outreach Officers at the RBGE, the Edinburgh Local History Network and EGSF (Edinburgh Green Spaces Forum), their Convener serving on the Committee of both groups.
