Bonnie Dundee IYN

Bonnie Dundee IYN have been working in the city centre for twenty years, providing colourful displays in garden areas and planters. Because of the increase in urban heat and periods of drought followed by torrential rain, their planting has changed to more sustainable, sturdy perennials. They also realise that volunteers can do so much more, so they are in the process of creating a physical space in the centre of Dundee so they can store tools and litter picking equipment, compost their own waste and have a rendevous for meeting and discussing project planning that is welcome space for everyone.

In 2024, the group won 3rd place in our NatureScot It's Your Neighbourhood Pollinator Friendly Award.

In 2022 the group picked up two discretionary awards: the NatureScot It's Your Neighbourhood Pollinator Friendly Award - 3rd place - receiving £100 towards pollinator friendly activities; and the Keep Scotland Beautiful Beautiful Scotland & It's Your Neighbourhood discretionary award - Gardening in a Changing Climate Award (Bonnie Dundee and Bonnie Dundee IYN groups).
