Helena Fox
Helena started at the charity in September 2023 as an Our Heritage, Our Project Officer, working in communities to explore the place of heritage in the face of climate crisis.
Her background is varied, with experience ranging across creative practices, arts administration, and community facilitation. Her theatre work has included: creating an award-winning musical about mental illness; being commissioned by the Royal Society of Chemistry to write an audio-drama about climate change; placing second at Europe’s largest drag king competition; and spending half of 2022 performing 5 nights a week in central London.
Since her teens, Helena has been designing and leading LGBT+ discussion workshops and drag/theatre sessions in schools and youth organisations. Her keen interest in heritage was solidified during her work at Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village in Surrey.
Helena studied for a BA (Hons) in Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic at the University of Cambridge, specialising in medieval Irish and achieving a First Class with Distinction. She relocated to Scotland from the south-east of England to enjoy the fantastic landscape, particularly the swimming opportunities, and she can frequently be found in lochs, rivers, or the sea.
