Christopher Ayyildiz
Chris joined the Environment and Place Services team in October 2025 as a GIS and Data Officer. He is currently supporting the delivery of LEAMS, helping local authorities measure and improve environmental quality, in addition to developing datasets to train our AI-powered litter detection system.
His background includes experience in GIS for environmental projects, ISO 14001 compliance, and environmental data analytics, delivering sustainable solutions for organisations. Chris holds an MA Joint Honours in Economics and Psychology from the University of Aberdeen, applying his background to develop insights that account for social and economic factors. He has also completed several professional certifications in data analytics and machine learning from IBM, Google, and Microsoft, and is an Associate Member of ISEP.
Outside of work, Chris is an avid runner and regularly participates in events and fundraisers across Scotland.
