Marta Innes
Make Your Mark Skills Development Officer
Marta joined Keep Scotland Beautiful as a Skills Development Officer for the Make Your Mark campaign. She will work alongside Access to Industry to deliver a programme of accredited skills training to people facing complex barriers to employment. The training focuses on built, cultural and natural heritage, and aims to facilitate pathways into volunteering, further learning, and employment opportunities.

Marta’s background is in Archaeology and heritage research, with an MA in Archaeology and History, MSc in Human Osteology, MLitt in Material Culture and Artefact Studies, and a PhD in Archaeology (MA, MLitt, and PhD from the University of Glasgow, MSc from the University of Edinburgh).

She has broad teaching experience, having worked as a Lecturer in Archaeology at the University of Glasgow prior to joining us, and is particularly passionate about hands-on learning and practical skills development, and fostering a positive learning environment for diverse student cohorts. As a heritage professional, Marta has worked with a range of museums and commercial partners, most recently in her capacity as a prehistoric pottery specialist/illustrator. As such, she is keen to utilise her experience within the broader heritage and education sector to support the Make Your Mark campaign and its participants.
