Bruce Robertson has been a Keep Scotland Beautiful Trustee since 2014, having a background in education in Scotland. A former teacher, Bruce served as a Director of Education for 12 years before working in an advisory capacity with The Scottish Government, the Association of Directors of Education in Scotland ( ADES ) and other national agencies, including Bòrd na Ghaidhlig where he was interim Chief Executive.
Bruce has experience of charity work in different settings, large and small, and is a former Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Scotland. He has a passion for environmental and outdoor education having led a number of national policy initiatives in this field.
He is currently Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde, a past President of ADES, a Fellow of the SQA, and was awarded an OBE in 2006 for services to Education.
