Graeme holds a number of positions in the charitable, public and private sectors. He previously had a lengthy career as a geophysicist in the oil industry, an official in HM Treasury and as a senior civil servant the Scottish Government.

He was Director General Enterprise, Environment and Innovation in the Scottish Government until May 2016. He then took the opportunity to follow his passion for energy and the environment and return to the University of Edinburgh to study their award-winning MSc in Carbon Management. Graeme has a strong interest in Scotland’s future decarbonisation and the transition to a low-, and zero-, carbon economy and society.

Outside of work he enjoys hill walking, growing food in an allotment, and cooking it and other things. He does pilates to keep strong and supple.
