Brian joined us in October 2025 as a Trustee, bringing over 30 years’ experience in business, investment and sustainability. He has worked with organisations of all sizes - from global companies to government and charities - helping them navigate investment challenges while finding opportunities to make a positive difference for people and the environment.
Before joining us, Brian was a Partner at Mercer, leading their sustainable investment work across the UK and Europe, where he advised some of the country’s largest pension schemes. He’s also part of the governing body at Heriot-Watt University, where he chairs the Donations and Investment Committee and supports several strategy and finance groups. Over the years, Brian has played leading roles in industry bodies such as the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association, the CFA Institute and the CBI.
He holds a PhD from Heriot-Watt University, as well as MSc and BSc degrees.
The UN Sustainable Development Goal that means the most to Brian is SDG 13: Climate Action, reflecting his passion for helping deliver a fair and lasting transition to a greener future.
