Our ambassadors
Our ambassadors
Our charity is lucky to have many dedicated people across Scotland all helping to raise the profile of the positive action that can be taken to address the environmental challenges we face.
There are many trusted and respected voices of those with influence in Scotland. We believe that by working with them we can together set a positive example to others, inspiring even greater action.
#TeamKSB consists of a core staff team employed and led by our CEO Barry Fisher, a passionate, influential and knowledgeable Board of Charity Trustees chaired by Tom Brock OBE, and Honorary Fellows, recognised for their outstanding commitment and passion for the work of our charity, its people and our activities.
We also work with a small, influential and mighty number of charity Ambassadors.
Stephen Jardine is one of Scotland’s best known journalists and broadcasters.
He started his career in radio before joining STV as a trainee reporter. He then moved to GMTV as Scotland Correspondent and then Europe Correspondent, based in Paris.
In 2000 Stephen rejoined STV and went on to present a wide range of programmes including documentaries, politics programmes and the flagship news show Scotland Today.
Stephen now works for the BBC presenting a morning radio show on BBC Radio Scotland and the TV political discussion programme 'Debate Night' on BBC Scotland.
He also writes for The Scotsman and The Times and hosts a range of conferences and high profile events.
He became our ambassador in 2024.
Laura Young is an award-winning climate activist, environmental scientist and ethical influencer.
She was awarded the overall Scottish Influencer of the Year for 2024 for work advocating for climate and environmental justice online – particularly on the campaign work done to bring about a ban on single-use vapes in the UK, which we were proud to support with our data.
Currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Abertay and the University of Dundee as a Hydro Nations Scholar in climate resilience, Laura regularly speaks in the media bringing her expertise into conversations about climate, waste, sustainability and environmental justice issues.
Laura contributed to our National Conversation on Litter and has been a supporter of our Spring Clean for a number of years.
She became our ambassador in 2025. You can find her on social under @LessWasteLaura and more about her work at www.lesswastelaura.com/bio
