#Source2Sea Week Daily Actions
80% of all marine litter comes from land, where litter is washed into gutters, blown into streams or carelessly discarded. This means that litter in our streets and parks is not only costly to clean up but is a threat to the marine environment.
That's why we need to take #Source2Sea Action. We’re encouraging everyone to take action along a waterway near them to prevent litter ending up in the sea. By completing our seven #Source2SeaWeek Daily Actions you can help us keep Scotland beautiful. No action is too small and everyone can play their part.
Day 1: Spread the word
Help us raise awareness of #Source2Sea Week by sharing our posts, tagging your friends, family and colleagues and telling people about it.
Day 2: Complete a survey
Help us gather data by completing a survey along your local waterway. Use the Upstream Battle sheet to record what litter you find and upload the results to our online portal.
Day 3: Two-minute Clean Up
Take action against #Source2Sea litter by doing a two-minute Clean Up in your local area. Send a photo of your Clean Up to upstreambattle@keepscotlandbeautiful.org.
Day 4: Take a photo
Share your favourite spot on your local waterway and help keep it free of #Source2Sea litter by taking a photo and telling us why you keep Scotland beautiful. Email your photo to upstreambattle@keepscotlandbeautiful.org.
Day 5: Choose to reuse
Scrap the single-use and choose to reuse. Send us a photo of your favourite reusable cup or bottle to upstreambattle@keepscotlandbeautiful.org.
Day 6: Bin it to win it
Register for LitterLotto to double your chances of winning! Email a screenshot of your LitterLotto submission to upstreambattle@keepscotlandbeautiful.org.
