Are you interested in becoming an ambassador for the River Clyde or River Tay, raising awareness about source to sea marine litter in your area and showcasing how you have made a difference?

As part of our Upstream Battle campaign, we are looking for Young Reporters for the Environment to have their say on environmental issues and raise awareness for source to sea marine pollution in and around the these two iconic Scottish rivers. The project involves using media skills to document your awareness of a chosen environmental issue - in this case topics relating to source to sea litter, such as litter and waste, plastic pollution or marine conservation - through film, photography or journalism.

We can provide you with support and toolkit to showcase your view on the issue, to help you spread the message in your community. The holidays are a great time to get out, start your research and gather evidence on your topic, our Upstream Battle Anchor Groups can provide you with information and evidence for your project.

There is loads of information and lots of fantastic resources on our Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) webpage. You can also use the YRE Global video tutorials to help with filming, writing and photography techniques.

Participants in the Young Reporters for the Environment project will have the opportunity to enter the international Young Reporters competition to be in with a chance of having your film, photos or written article feature in the global awards.
