Community Litter Workshops

**Register now via Eventbrite**

£35 is on offer for people across Scotland to participate in Community Litter Workshops we are delivering in February.

At the workshops participants will be able to learn more about littering issues, plan a first step to tackle litter in their communities, and help shape what future workshops might look like.

The 2-hour workshops are being delivered by us, as part of our actions for the National Litter and Flytipping Strategy's (NLFS) Year 1 Action Plan, in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland and SEPA. The workshops are funded by the Scottish Government.

Who are these workshops for?

The workshops are for adult (18+) individuals and groups in Scotland beginning their litter tackling journey. You'll want to learn more about littering issues, plan a first step to tackle litter in your community, and help shape what future workshops might look like.

There are four workshops for people living in specific local authority areas, plus a fifth Scotland-wide workshop.

The workshops will take place in February 2024 for people living in:

  • Aberdeen (online)
  • Dumfries & Galloway (online)
  • North Lanarkshire (in-person)
  • Renfrewshire (in-person)
  • Scotland (online)

Why should I register to attend a workshop?

  • Understand why litter is a hard problem to fix
  • Understand the scale of the litter problem
  • Understand wider impacts of the litter problem
  • Learn ways to consider changing the behaviours that are leading to the litter emergency.
  • Plan a first step personally, locally (and, where relevant, as part of your workplace) to help change behaviours.
  • Share your views via in-workshop surveys, so that future workshops can be designed to be as practical as possible.

How will the workshops take place?

  • The workshops will be delivered by two of our experienced facilitators, who we use supporting information from a series of specially developed slides.
  • In-workshop surveys will be conducted via the Mentimeter platform with a pen and paper option also available at in-person events.
  • Workshops are 2 hours in length and will have time for a Q&A at the end.
