Winner of the Film Category (8-10 years) in 2019 and the overall Film Category winner for Scotland.

A film about the causes of marine litter and the impact on marine life of plastic in particular. What can be done?

Kilcreggan Against Plastic - Kilcreggan Primary School

Winner of the Film Category (11-14 years) in 2019

A film about the impact of plastic litter, particularly in the local community around the school and in Japan, where pupils have twinned with another school.

A film highlighting the damage caused by litter, particularly near waterways and what we can all do about it.

Battlefield Against Hunger - Battlefield Primary School

Pupils from Battlefield Primary School's Always Thinking About Others team discuss ways everyone can help to eliminate poverty. 

Features Goal 1: No Poverty and Goal 2: Zero Hunger.

 

 

Crisp Packet on the Loose - Cairneyhill Primary School

This film is all about littering and what effect it has on the environment. Since this is a big problem in the school's area pupils felt that reducing litter would have a big effect on our local environment and wildlife. They said: "We live in a beautiful village which is losing its beauty due to the amount of careless litter dropping. We want to highlight the issue so everyone in our local community takes action".

 

 

A Problem With Pollution - Cuthbertson Primary School

Pupils said: "Air pollution is a big problem in our area. We can see it when we are playing in our playground. We can smell it when we eat our lunch. We can see it on our dirty windows. We are trying to improve health and wellbeing in our school lessons. the head teacher is trying to improve health and wellbeing across the school. But we need to improve our health outside too".

Raising awareness of the causes of plastic pollution and giving practical solutions for individuals to reduce their dependence on single use plastics.

Marine Pollution - George Heriot's School

After seeing Blue Planet 2 and then having the opportunity to pick an environmental topic to research, these S1 pupils selected marine pollution, including single-use plastics.

Examines the issue of palm oil harvesting, inequalities and destruction of wildlife habitats for Orangutans.

Waging the War on Plastic Pollution - Keir Hardie Memorial Primary School

The pupil voice group at Keir Hardie Memorial Primary School learned about the ways in which plastic is polluting our oceans. They wanted to find out how our actions are having an effect on the environment. After a Young Reporters Scotland workshop they were inspired to find out more about Goal 14 and how life below water is being affected by plastic pollution.

This video focuses on the 3Ps - Plastic, Pollution and Palm Oil. Pupils chose these points because they are issues everyone can do something about. Pupils have been learning about these issues in interdisciplinary learning classes in school.
