‘The social aspect is really good, getting out and about in the fresh air, eating healthy food, tasty food and just doing something a bit different something you don't do every day.’

‘When I was young I really loved cheese sandwiches. I didn't know about Scottish produce then but if I had I would have said to my dad make sure it's Scottish cheese like this Orkney cheese we are eating now.’

‘At home we were eating rice my mum made and the sauce was spicy.’

‘Last weekend we had a bit of a picnic at the Glasgow Mela in Kelvingrove Park and I don't think they had homemade oatcakes, not like these anyway!’

‘Where I come from people do a lot of barbecues and Christmas is sunny so a really stirring memory for me is a childhood picnic barbecue on the beach.’

‘Probably going to my great aunts house because you would get the same thing every week mince and potatoes and carrot and turnip and she would put it out in bowls on the table, which would now be kind of shabby chic, and you had to eat everything because you were not allowed to get down until it was all eaten.  And stewed rhubarb from her garden with ice cream which was lovely.’
