To help enable widespread involvement in Climate Week, organisations across Scotland were asked to bring colleagues together to watch and virtually participate in two events being live-streamed as part of the week. The video recording of these two events can be seen below.
"How do you decarbonise an economy?"
Chris Stark, Director of Energy and Climate Change, Scottish Government broadcasting from Victoria Quay in Edinburgh and leading a discussion on how to decarbonise the Scottish economy.
Chaired by Kirsty Lewin, Head of the Climate Change Hub, Scottish Government.
"Climate Change Communication and Behaviour Change"
Dr Catherine Happer, University of Glasgow, is a sociologist with a special interest in media accounts of climate change, and the public's attitudes and behaviours in response to these.
Dr Happer broadcasting live from Keep Scotland Beautiful in Stirling, together with Andrew Darnton, architect of the ISM (Individual, Social, Material) Framework approach to understanding and encouraging sustainable behaviours.
The discussion focussed on how and why we feel the way we do about climate change, and practical methods for overcoming barriers to acting sustainably.
