The Ardroy Recycle Project run by Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre

Grant awarded: £84,418

Project dates: 1 January 2014 - 31 March 2016

The Ardroy Recycle Project at Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre in Lochgoilhead recycled wetsuits and other equipment to eliminate part of their landfill usage and to reduce energy consumption by using polytunnels as part of the drying process. These two strands added to the food and garden waste recycling plant run at the Centre enabled the project to give practical examples and guidance to those attending residential courses whether they be children, teenagers or adults.

Isle of Bute Closed Loop Food Chain Project run by Fyne Futures Ltd

Grant awarded: £37,066.67

Project dates: 6 April 2015 - 31 March 2016

Fyne Futures Ltd ran the Isle of Bute Closed Loop Food Chain Project to reduce carbon emissions associated with food miles. The project worked to create local community growing space, offer home growing training, a pilot food waste collection service and accredited composting training.
