Spring Clean 2019

Our Spring Clean is happening over April and May in 2019. Over this time we'd like to get as many community groups, businesses, schools, individuals and other organisations to work together to help us #CleanUpScotland.

This year Scotmid Cooperative will be our principle partner. As part of this partnership a number of stores will become community hubs with equipment and information for groups to use. Scotmid will also engage with schools and communities locally to support the Clean Up Scotland campaign.

Find some themes below that you can get involved with. Make sure you support us by:

Organising your own Clean Up event

Get involved with an existing Clean Up near you.

Schools take action

We are challenging all our Eco Schools to join the national Spring Clean. Whether it's inside the school gates or out in the local community. Let your pupils become #LitterHeroes this April and May.

Tackle marine litter

Help us Clean Up our coasts and seas. 80% of marine litter comes from land, alongside our Upstream Battle campaign help us tackle litter from #Source2Sea along rivers, canals and estruaries in Scotland.

Active Travel Week - April 22nd

We are partnering with Jog Scotland and Sustrans Scotland to get cyclists, walkers and joggers out helping us #CleanUpScotland. Over the week check out our map to find plogging events and Clean Ups along Scotland's National Cycle Networks near you.

Parks and local greenspaces

Parks and open spaces can have a positive effect on the nation's health and well-being. Help us Clean Up our parks and local greenspaces for everyone to enjoy.

Roadside Litter - Week of Action

Once again,  we'll be tackling roadside litter as part of our Roadside Litter Campaign. More information coming soon!

Case Study

Why not challenge yourself this #SpringClean19? In 2018, our Education Support Officer Cat took up the #30DaysofSpringClean challenge, picking litter every day for 30 days.

All you have to do is use the hashtag #30DaysofSpringClean in your photos! Do it for all 30 days and be entered into a draw to become a Clean Up Hero! Organisations can get involved, and we will be joining the challenge!
