Waternish Community Garden

The group’s ethos is to provide recreational facilities in the form of a community garden to improve the condition and wellbeing of peoples’ lives in the Waternish peninsula in the Isle of Skye.

Their purpose is to provide a variety of opportunities for the community to grow together using the garden as the focal point, to help people to join them in working in the garden to enhance their physical and mental wellbeing, to encourage people to grow by learning gardening skills, and seeing the fruit of their work benefitting others, to work with other local groups to encourage, support and strengthen links across the community, and to provide low cost produce for a small donation for those in need.
