Firstly, the project aims to combat the impact of loneliness and isolation for people over 55 by a variety of gardening activities to enrich lives, to connect people to nature and each other, and to enhance wellbeing in an immersive outdoor learning environment. Secondly, it aims to support and nurture local school children in an area of surprisingly high rural depravation by teaching them gardening skills, engaging them in enjoyable activities with their peers, to provide them with knowledge and encouragement to lead healthy lifestyles, again in an outdoor immersive learning environment. The project focuses upon engaging participants through outdoor learning in a newly allocated community garden within the peaceful and welcoming grounds of Paxton House.
