MAIG undertakes improvements to the ambience of Oldmeldrum throughout the year. The summer floral project provides significant displays decorating the town, with over 200 hanging-baskets, barrier-baskets and other floral displays within the town centre, a wild-flower bed and two managed flower beds.
They have two poly tunnels, a container for maintenance and storage of Christmas illuminations, and a purpose-built shed with an overhead gantry-crane. With this wonderful facility, they manage the preparation and installation of Oldmeldrum’s floral displays.
Funding comes from various sources: plant sales, a monthly lottery-style draw, and annual themed-dinner events, local business organisations and members of the public.
All the group’s efforts are provided by enthusiastic volunteers.
