Growing Kirkcaldy (GK) is a voluntary group that has strong partnerships with the Community and Fife Council – their aim is to promote the environment of Kirkcaldy in the widest sense. The group networks with, and provides support for, many local groups, businesses and schools as well as continuously developing several of its own projects, mainly in the centre of the town.
In 2022, the group won the Beautiful Scotland discretionary award - the VisitScotland Award for Tourism: Tourism is up and coming in Kirkcaldy. It has a long, rich history going back centuries, and, with the hard work and efforts of Growing Kirkcaldy, the whole community are progressing with rebranding and promoting their town, including big plans to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Adam Smith's birth in 2023. Along with this, they are being aware and active in encouraging a 21st century approach to promoting the town as a tourist destination.
In 2019, Growing Kirkcaldy was awarded a Silver Gilt medal in the RHS Britain in Bloom finals.
