Galashiels Community Garden

A small group of volunteers who’ve begun to clear and develop an overgrown old walled garden behind the Focus community centre in Galashiels. They’ve been clearing brambles, blackthorn and nettles, and have planted fruit trees and bushes. They’ve been in contact with local groups, some of which have come to help with the work in the garden or just to use the garden to enjoy nature. They hope to increase community involvement, and develop their vegetable growing areas this year.
