Level 5 - Outstanding
Certificate of Distinction

In 2024, Friends of Holmhills Wood Community Park was recognised by Keep Scotland Beautiful with a Highly Commended Certificate of the Scottish level of the Gardening for Wildlife Award, one of five new RHS Community Awards.

Holmhills Wood Community Park is a Local Nature Reserve in Cambuslang with a wealth of wildlife within woods, ponds and flower-rich grassland. A network of paths offer great walks with magnificent views across Glasgow towards Ben Lomond and Campsie Hills.

Friends of Holmhills Wood Community Park work in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council towards improving the Park for people and wildlife. The volunteers aim to deal with litter and other problems and provide community events – a favourite being pond dipping. They also monitor biodiversity and contribute data to local and national wildlife recording schemes.
