Friends of Barshaw Park

In 2024, Friends of Barshaw Park was recognised by Keep Scotland Beautiful with a Runner Up Certificate of the Scottish level of the Gardening for Health and Wellbeing Award, one of five new RHS Community Awards.

Friends of Barshaw Park are a registered charity and their volunteers maintain the beautiful Walled Garden within Barshaw park in Paisley. The garden area is beautiful, but the yard beyond is dilapidated and the group’s next project is to restore the workshops and other buildings.

Thanks to the RHS, they now have a Community Garden near the Walled Garden. This year will be its second growing season and Friends of Barshaw Park are keen to build on lessons learned from 2023.
