The Easter Breich Community Wood group looks after a community woodland on behalf of the West Calder, Polbeth and Seafield communities. The woodland consists of mixed tree species planted around 25 years ago but with some veteran trees which are over 150 years old. The wood is bounded by the River Almond to the North and the Easter Breich Water to the East. The woodland has an accessible path and other trails which are popular walking, running, dog walking, cycling and riding for members of the community. The group organises volunteering activities to look after the wood and other educational and recreational activities. The wood was purchased for the community in April 2022 with a grant from the Scottish Land Fund.
