DARG members meet once a week to look after two gardens at Dumfries Railway Station. Platform 1 has a dry garden, a rose garden, lawns, herbaceous beds and a newly created woodland garden. Platform 2 has a sloped area of lawn, DUMFRIES marked in box hedging, herbaceous beds and shrubs and bulbs. Both platforms and station entrance have planters alternating summer and winter bedding.

Compost heaps, bird boxes, bird feeders, a water feature and minimal watering materials have been added to the gardens in recent years. It is also proposed to expand to cultivate another piece of unused ground at the station this year.
