Bonnie Dundee IYN

The group plant and maintain 50 planters, two small orchards, two herb areas and two gardens in the centre of Dundee, growing a substantial amount from seed. Because of climate change, they aim to build on their understanding of plants and gardening increasing environmental resilience, sustainability, biodiversity (especially pollinators) and encourage the public to join them on their journey. The group pass on information via their notice board, Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, notices in their gardens and by holding events. They work closely with Dundee City Council, local shops and businesses, Dundee Community Garden Network and Dundee Changemakers hub.

In 2022 the group picked up two discretionary awards: the NatureScot It's Your Neighbourhood Pollinator Friendly Award - 3rd place - receiving £100 towards pollinator friendly activities; and the Keep Scotland Beautiful Beautiful Scotland & It's Your Neighbourhood discretionary award - Gardening in a Changing Climate Award (Bonnie Dundee and Bonnie Dundee IYN groups).
