Celebrating International Day of the Girl with Girlguiding Scotland Challenge Badge
Last year, to celebrate Earth Day, we worked with Girlguiding Scotland to develop a badge for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section. This badge is designed to encourage and help members celebrate Scotland's natural beauty and develop Scotland's role in tackling environmental issues. It aims to encourage members of all ages to keep Scotland beautiful for current and future generations.
You can also use activities from this badge to contribute towards an entry for our Young Reporters Scotland competition. This programme inspires young people to increase knowledge and awareness of an economically, socially and environmentally just world.
The badge offers a range of challenges for groups and individuals to pick from. We have seven different sustainable topics that have activities grouped into three themes: Research, Act and Campaign. Individuals can learn and develop skills around organising a community Clean Ups, holding an eco-friendly picnic, blogging and writing about environmental issues and writing to their MSP.
